[School] 26th May to 1st June: exchange is coming to an end soon >.<

This week I have been staying in dorm and not travelling out much 😛 Kind of tired of travelling and decided I needed a break from it . Well I went out to shipped another box of stuff back home and it reach home safely on friday (: Similar weight as my previous box home. 11.3kg. I really filled the box till the brim and carry it down to the post office.

Now is week 13 and it is the first time I am trying the cafeteria food, since old man didn’t have any Biz Hist class this week (: I had Guguma Dongkatsu!! So nice (: I don’t mind eating here again, depending on what they serve too 😛 Haha.

2014-05-27 13.27.35

Thursday I went for a dinner gathering with my G2 classmate and Weiqi’s & Dan Lim’s friend joined us too. We ate chicken again and with beer. So far they are the only ones whom I ate chicken and drink beer together (: They even created a cup to help you with the proportioning of Soju and Beer. So cool! But I didn’t try as I didn’t like Soju a lot 😛

[School] 23rd to 25th May

Our trip to Suncheon and Yeosu~~ We took the S-train there, which was just newly opened and only have one ride form Busan to Yeosu-Expo and one way back (: Every carriage is like a pandora box, with the 1st 2 carriage filled with seats, the 3rd carriage is the Cafe, the 4th carriage is the Tea Room and the last carriage is the Noraebang room 😛 So pretty ~~ But the the ride from Busan to Suncheon was too early, so we just walked around and then went back to rest at our seats.

ImageImageImageImageImage

Image

After we alighted at Suncheon station, we walked to the nearby shops to find a lunch place. We just kept walking determined to find a decent place to eat. After walking one big round, we finally found a kalguksu stall. We ordered a soybean kalguksu which is really nutritious but a bit bland after a while as it was a really huge bowl.

Image

We took a cab to Suncheon Open Film set where many dramas filmed here before, including Running Man. However when we were there they were re-constructing the place, so we concluded that there must be some drama that is going to be filmed there soon. It was really fun there (: but the steps at the village was really steep and high. I wonder how did they play Running Man there~~ haha

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

I had to bend really low to enter the house in the village. How do the people live in the past?! I even had to bend down do that I can capture a picture of Fang at the door.

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

OMG! This can totally be a scene in Running Man. Where Fang is standing is a highly likely possible location where Jongkook would stand at. Image

After venturing around the film set, we cabbed to Suncheon Garden Expo. I arrived there in the late afternoon, so we could venture to the whole Bay. We only managed to cover the East side of the Garden (all the garden of the world). It is picture moment every second haha ~~

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

The next day we started our day with a stroll to Odong-do. It is a mini island near the Yeosu-expo. I found a bike station there, however our alien registration number does not allow us to rent the bikes hence I am unable to ride one T.T

ImageImageImage

Today we were determined to get decent food again and we found similar shop like the one in Suncheon. I got to eat pumpkin porridge again ~~ so nice but too much 😛

Image

WE headed to the Hangilram temple. It was such a steep slope to climb up to the entrance and when we though it was over, there was numerous more flights of steps again >.< The view was nice but it was tiring as I was completely not prepared for it lor 😛

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

We had ice cream at the cafe after we came down from the temple, as we were trying to find out where the soy sauce crab place was. I had strawberry ice cream ~~ not too sour nor is was it too sweet.

Image

We walked a really long road to get to the shop. It was amongst the street that was structured into a grid, so I had a easy time counting the number of streets before reaching the stall. We didn’t even know that it was the Running Man one. We just found it on the web. When we sat down we wanted to read the menu to figure out what to order, but the lady started to put dishes on our table and we were shocked. We keep wondering if we ordered already or was it wrong order. After that we realised that it was 8000 per person and refillable. We didn’t ask for refill as it was just nice for 3 of us. Raw crab is nice but I miss Singapore’s Chilli Crab, Butter Crab and Salted Crab.

ImageImage

We walked along the harbour to digest our food and since we had no where else to go to. We came across a map of the world and they even labeled the countries!! We immediately found Singapore and stood there to take a picture (pardon the picture as it is upside down). I tried to take a panorama too and only succeeded once, as there were a lot people walking around. ImageImageImageImage

This is the mascot for Yeosu Expo 2012, Yeony & Suny (: Though expo ended, they are still everyway ~~

Image

We passed by yet another windmill. If you noticed the floor, it has a lot of starship that people took and put on the floor to spell hangul words. Seriously ~~ they are killing a lot of starfishes 😦

Image

The night view of Dolsan bridge! Image

After aimlessly walking around, we decided to take a cab back as the roads that we wanted to walk along were tunnels. It was still early so we headed to Noraebang and we found the song that would get Fang to start singing into the mic (: hahahahahahahahahahahaImage

The last day we bought kimbap and bap burger to eat for our picnic lunch at the expo benches. After that we walked to the Aqua planet to visit the Beluga whale. There was really really very little people around when we were walking around Yeosu, until we question the population size there. haha (: Only when we reached the Aqua planet, then we realised where the Yeosu population was at and really a lot of kids 😛

 ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

During the Beluga whale show, the whales come really close to us and even splash water onto us 😛

ImageImage

Weiqi and her beluga whale ~~ Finally she managed to buy it (:Image

We got to experience the tea room on our trip back. The tea is not bad for 2,000won (: We sat there for 2 station distance before heading back to our own seats and rest (: Oh oh another got part about S-train, every seat had a plug!!!!Image

[School] 19th to 22nd May

On Monday 19th May, I saw Running Man’s Song Ji Hyo!!! The best part, we heard it from Shu yi (our senior who went to PNU 2 sems ago), who is about 4000 miles away in Singapore. Though I really want to see Jae Suk, seeing Ji Hyo is good enough. Hehe^^ she is my 2nd bias in Running Man <3<3<3

LOL! my friends start to draw on my lecture notes at the same time during G2: China class 😛 I think  the weather made us sleepy (raining for the whole day again) ~~

On thursday, we met up with Professor Ryo (visiting professor @ PNU) to discuss about a possible event on Southeast Asia, to promote awareness of Southeast Asia among PNU students and hopefully Busan in the near future. However we are only left with 4 weeks and it is packed with exams, so we could not help him much. We could only help link him up with the incoming batch of exchange students and whom he can contact in SMU to do a link up between PNU and SMU.

After that, I finally got to eat at North Gate again and ate Korean style of Chinese food (: The sweet and sour pork is really nice!! okie ~~ maybe because we are really hungry 😛 haha!

Now I can’t wait for tomorrow!!! We going Suncheon and Yeosu ❤

[School] Weekends – 15th to 18th May

Thursday

Wei Fang, Weiqi and I went out with Sinye to Yonggungsa Temple. We met at Haeundae station for lunch. As the weather is hot in the noon, we decided to eat Naengmyeon to ‘cool’ ourselves.

2014-05-15 13.07.17

After that we took a bus to Yonggungsa Temple. We nearly missed the stop. An ahjumma even had to told us that we were at the stop, if not we would have missed it. Then after we alighted the bus, the bus driver even honked and point us the correct direction to walk to the temple 😛 so funny. Even Sinye didn’t know how to walk there as she hasn’t been there before! Busan 사람 but does not know how to get around Busan  ~~ haha

Friday

Weifang, Sing yee and I decided to visit the Geumjang Fortress on Mount Geumjang, which PNU is also built on. The easiest way up is by cable car and hike a short distance to South Gate, but first we needed to find a way to walk to the Geumgang park so that we can take the cable car up. We had to ask quite a number of people before we arrived at the park 😛

2014-05-16 14.15.23

Apparently cable car in Busan is call rope way, which is weird 😛 When we arrived at the ticketing counter, I asked the weirdest thing : “oh one way is 4,000won and return is 7,000won. so one way or return?” Haha can’t believe I asked that question. The uncle who helps to operate the rope way, immediately recognises that we are Singaporeans. He said he recognise from our faces. Maybe because he heard us talking English but we look Chinese. Well this is the first time someone got it right, without any help 😛

2014-05-16 14.25.08

The view from the cable car is awesome! it is like going up Busan tower, though I haven been up to Busan tower yet 😛 We could even see Gwangan Bridge from a distance!! So cool(: But can’t really see our school as it is on the opposite side of the mountain.

2014-05-16 14.31.03

After we got off from the cable car, we started our path to the South Gate of Geumjeongsanseong Fortress. We kept spotting for ahjummas and ahjussis so that we would know which direction to walk to. By the time we got to the South Gate, we had 5 guides who help directed us. There was a pair of ahjumma who argue about which direction we should go, when there is only one way and they just walked it down 😛

2014-05-16 15.05.38

I would say the view is worth the hike, as we didn’t hike much too. We initially thought about walking to another gate and back, but we took an hour to hike up. So we decided to give it a miss and start spamming photos (:

After dinner, we headed back and collected the parcel my parents delivered. OMG Shipping from Singapore is so expensive >.< Before I open it, I really wonder what was inside that could fill the whole box (FYI they reused the box that I used to ship my stuff back in March). My parents wrapped the box like they were playing “pass the parcel”. They wrapped double layer of brown paper over the box.

2014-05-16 20.20.37

When I opened the box and started to take out the stuff, I was shocked! I remember telling my parents that I had 3 buddies to buy for, yet I have like 14 souvenirs from them 😛 LOL!!! Gave some to the girls to give their buddies. Also kept some to give my Biz Hist classmates (the classmates that I feel very close to). As for the rest of my class, I will give some Bwa Kua from Singapore or Anchovies from Vietnam to them (:

Saturday

Initially we wanted to go Dongbaek Island with Sujong but she has a deadline to meet, so we decided to go to Gukje market in Nampo-dong. However after we visited there, we realised that there is not much food, just household items and kitchen wares, etc. So we walked to the fashion street to shop again, but didn’t buy any clothes 😛

After that we walked to Lotte Department Store to go to the 13th floor. It is pretty and relaxing to rest there and do nothing ^^ When the other girls visited the mini zoo, Fang and I just sat there and relax (: After that we had dinner and walked around the supermarket. We ended up at the wine section and super surprise at how cheap the wines are in Korea. We concluded it should be because of the low tax. We ended up buying white wine as most people should be okie with it. (:

[School] Weekends – 10th to 11th May

On Saturday, I went with Sing Yee, Nat and Dan Lim to Seomyeon for a mini-shopping spree. I went H&M and brought another 2 dresses >< Oh man need control or I can’t shop with when Gwen comes 😛 After that we headed to Seomyeon Lotte Departmental Store. We arrived at the Lotte Duty Free @ level 8 but … it was overcrowded with China tourist. OMG i literally had a headache T.T So we headed to the supermarket at basement to buy the brownies that the rest want to ship back.

I was in awe when the 3 of them are like “ransacking” the rack of brownies. Dan lim bought a basket full of brownies, close to 20+ boxes. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

On Sunday, I met Sim Ai, Sing Yee and Nat for lunch near Busan Museum of Art. We at Army stew for the 3rd time at a roadside stall. After that we went to Busan Museum of Art and visit the exhibition, that is free admission. Since art is all about pictures, i shall not type further…

[School] Week ten – 7th May to 9th May

I met my buddy, Jae Eun, and her friend, Ji Young (who is now my friend too). We ate bbq pork with bean sprout. Is delicious but not that cheap though. They also provided us with an apron to wear so that the sauce would not splash onto us.

2014-05-08 19.15.08

We headed to a board game cafe to kill some time before eating Sul Bing. We had to choose some easily games so that Jae Eun and Ji young can explain to me. The instructions were all translated into Korean. haha!! We did play Halli Galli, which I knew the rules already. It was really funny!! Never – ending and commenting about slow reactions 😛

[School] Weekends – 2nd to 6th May

1st May Thursday

Yeah! get to meet Zhuwei, Doreen and Rynn again! Finally after 1 month plus. Yi Tong and Wee Liang, who is having exchange at the same Uni as Zhuwei they all, came along as well (: I skip my G2 class so that I can spend more time them 😛

I brought them to the Bibimbap store for early dinner as they didn’t really eat on the KTX ride, while we waited for Wei Fang to end class. Then we walked the girls to around Library 2 to show them our Uni and where our dorm is, which they commented that it was really high up. So they understand why we keep saying that we don’t want to roll down the hill at night 😛

After that we walked around the streets before ending up at the Charlie Brown cafe. We sat there really long to chat and discuss our travelling plans. We also going to watch baseball match together  on 5th July ^^ We went for dinner round 2 at the Ahjumma’s shop at the tents. The rest was tired and needed to check in, so they left early (:

2nd May Friday

Met Zhuwei and the rest early in the morning to go to Busan Aquarium. There was a discounted price for foreigners and foreign students. The aquarium is nice but I don’t think is very well kept, as compared to the S.E.A aquarium. It was pretty obvious that there were some dead marine life and some are dying. However there is slightly more “shows” here, like shark feeding and otter feeding (:

After lunch, we met up with Wei Fang and headed to UN memorial cemetery. They refuse to allow my dolphin to enter and told me to put it in the bag >.< They laugh at me some more 😛 haha ! In the end I passed it to them for safekeeping, as they considered it a pet and no pets were allowed. The UN memorial is really pretty yet depressing. The park is preserved very well but you will keep thinking about the lives lost during the Korean War and it had technically not ended yet. T.T

We snapped a few shots then we headed to Out Dark for dinner as we were really hungry 😛 Gwangalli is a really pretty beach, but I must admit that it is a pretty long walk to reach it. Haeundae is much easier to get to (:

3rd May Saturday
I went to Jagalchi for the 3rd time! haha. As it was the long holiday, there were many people who travel to Busan and we had to wait for a while longer to get an empty table together. We ordered BBQ eel, grilled fish and sashimi ^^

We also went to Gamcheon Cultural Village and the bus ride was … OMG! we had to stand and it was on steep slopes >.< But this time we walked up the second path. It was very steep, worse than PNU slopes.

4th May Sunday
We took Mugunghwa train from Busan to Daegu station. It was only 1.5 hours but we were so tired that we didn’t explore the train 😛

After we reach, the manager at the guesthouse asked if they can film us visiting at a place as there is a team doing a documentary about “Kazumi bringing you to places”. As we already made plans, so we only agreed to allow them to follow us to the Herb Museum. They just flmed us and took photos of us going around.

We went to Keimyung University’s Arts Centre to watch Phantom of the Opera’s musical. The university is very pretty. all brick red (:2014-05-04 18.55.59

2014-05-04 21.38.00

We were invited to go for a BBQ party by the guesthouse, but Zhuwei and I had a musical to attend. Apparently it was very awkward as they didn’t have the food prepared for the BBQ. They suggested getting chicken and beer, and they wanted to play a game to decide who is the loser to buy the dinner. Best part the girls and Wee Liang they don’t even know where to get the food. Like what the hell!!!! As we all ate something before the dinner, because we are hungry from the train ride, those who went wanted to leave the BBQ party. But the people there kept holding onto the money and insist that they should stay for soju. The worst was that they were filming the manager, they strapped a wireless mic to her … so they were capturing the conversation! WHAT THE HELL!

<strike one>

5th May Monday

2014-05-05 11.04.25

We went to Donghwasa temple as it was the number one place to visit in Daegu. We had to take the bus up the mountain and walk up some more to the entrance. The temple is so crowded with people, i think is because it is Buddha’s Birthday the next day. They also had Pororo & friends’ lanterns in the temple. Zhu Wei and I were busy tossing coins for good luck, especially into the bowl in the pond. That was the hardest >.<

After that we went to MIES Container for Bacon & Potato Pan Cheese and BBQ platter. Lastly we had milk ice-cream with honeycomb! Never-ending food haha ^^ So satisfying!!

2014-05-05 19.24.42

After our late night movie, the Amazing Spiderman 2, we headed back to the guesthouse at 3plus am. The sight that greeted us was not good at all. The managers and some guests they had were drinking at the living area. By the time we got back they were in drunk state. To visualise, the living area is right outside the 8-bed female room (that I stay in) and the mixed dorm is on the second floor. So we had drunk people, mostly guys, outside our room. We still had to go to the toilet to wash up, so we went in pairs. When we changed, we had to watch our door as the previous night we realised someone could open the door even after I heard the door was locked >.<  The staff also slept in our dorm, while the male guest slept in the staff room. It made me wonder if they were fully booked…

What was worse was that the next day, they started filming with another guest and they didn’t inform us beforehand. They just started filming, when I was sleeping. Our door was open and my bed is facing the door, so if my blanket accidentally slip off they can capture what’s under the blanket. I was so pissed out T.T

6th May Tuesday

We went to Seomun market in the morning before our train trip back to Busan. We covered half of the market, I think 😛  However we realise that the clothes there was not cheap, so shopping was done. We just ate street food and we found the snack stall (that closed down at PNU). I bought a bag of snacks and got the rest of the girls to buy too (:
