Wei Fang, Weiqi and I went out with Sinye to Yonggungsa Temple. We met at Haeundae station for lunch. As the weather is hot in the noon, we decided to eat Naengmyeon to ‘cool’ ourselves.
After that we took a bus to Yonggungsa Temple. We nearly missed the stop. An ahjumma even had to told us that we were at the stop, if not we would have missed it. Then after we alighted the bus, the bus driver even honked and point us the correct direction to walk to the temple 😛 so funny. Even Sinye didn’t know how to walk there as she hasn’t been there before! Busan 사람 but does not know how to get around Busan ~~ haha
The 12 Zodiacs ^^
Coin tossing ~ we all tried but couldn’t get it into the bowl 😛
This temple is really pretty, especially since it is beside the calming sea.
We headed to a cafe near the entrance of the route to the temple. We ate patbingsu^^ this time it had cereal with peanut powder, ice cream, red bean paste and ice (:
Weifang, Sing yee and I decided to visit the Geumjang Fortress on Mount Geumjang, which PNU is also built on. The easiest way up is by cable car and hike a short distance to South Gate, but first we needed to find a way to walk to the Geumgang park so that we can take the cable car up. We had to ask quite a number of people before we arrived at the park 😛
Apparently cable car in Busan is call rope way, which is weird 😛 When we arrived at the ticketing counter, I asked the weirdest thing : “oh one way is 4,000won and return is 7,000won. so one way or return?” Haha can’t believe I asked that question. The uncle who helps to operate the rope way, immediately recognises that we are Singaporeans. He said he recognise from our faces. Maybe because he heard us talking English but we look Chinese. Well this is the first time someone got it right, without any help 😛
The view from the cable car is awesome! it is like going up Busan tower, though I haven been up to Busan tower yet 😛 We could even see Gwangan Bridge from a distance!! So cool(: But can’t really see our school as it is on the opposite side of the mountain.
After we got off from the cable car, we started our path to the South Gate of Geumjeongsanseong Fortress. We kept spotting for ahjummas and ahjussis so that we would know which direction to walk to. By the time we got to the South Gate, we had 5 guides who help directed us. There was a pair of ahjumma who argue about which direction we should go, when there is only one way and they just walked it down 😛
I would say the view is worth the hike, as we didn’t hike much too. We initially thought about walking to another gate and back, but we took an hour to hike up. So we decided to give it a miss and start spamming photos (:
We were saying that we should totally have brought kimbap up to the fortress for picnic 😛
Helped Fang and Sing yee to take retro style photo with the sunlight streaming in from above.
After dinner, we headed back and collected the parcel my parents delivered. OMG Shipping from Singapore is so expensive >.< Before I open it, I really wonder what was inside that could fill the whole box (FYI they reused the box that I used to ship my stuff back in March). My parents wrapped the box like they were playing “pass the parcel”. They wrapped double layer of brown paper over the box.
When I opened the box and started to take out the stuff, I was shocked! I remember telling my parents that I had 3 buddies to buy for, yet I have like 14 souvenirs from them 😛 LOL!!! Gave some to the girls to give their buddies. Also kept some to give my Biz Hist classmates (the classmates that I feel very close to). As for the rest of my class, I will give some Bwa Kua from Singapore or Anchovies from Vietnam to them (:
Initially we wanted to go Dongbaek Island with Sujong but she has a deadline to meet, so we decided to go to Gukje market in Nampo-dong. However after we visited there, we realised that there is not much food, just household items and kitchen wares, etc. So we walked to the fashion street to shop again, but didn’t buy any clothes 😛
After that we walked to Lotte Department Store to go to the 13th floor. It is pretty and relaxing to rest there and do nothing ^^ When the other girls visited the mini zoo, Fang and I just sat there and relax (: After that we had dinner and walked around the supermarket. We ended up at the wine section and super surprise at how cheap the wines are in Korea. We concluded it should be because of the low tax. We ended up buying white wine as most people should be okie with it. (:
Went with Genevieve, Justine and Juin to catch a baseball match. Lotte Giants (Busan) vs Nexen Heroes (Seoul). & they won 11 to 6 ^^ Yipee (:
