Cafehopping in the East

Instead of lazying around during my off-day, I decided to embark on that cafehopping I have been mentioning too many times! Today I “tackled” the east, covering cafes mostly in East Coast and Siglap area.

Penny University

402 East Coast Road Singapore 428997

2016-03-04 11.05.43

2016-03-04 11.07.11

I had ~~
Turkey Bacon and Cheese crossiant
Smoked Salmon
Ice Chocolate

A light meal to start the #cafehoppingintheeast!Β  The crossiant is crispy (?!) and the serving for Smoked Salmon was the same amount as the crossiant πŸ˜€ Although the serving for Ice Chocolate was small, the chocolate syrup made up for it!

If only, I had found this place when I was still studying. I would come here often!

CraftsmenΒ SpecialtyΒ Coffee

2 First Street #01-01 Siglap V Singapore 458278

2016-03-04 11.48.58

I had ~~
Earl Grey Cheesecake
Iced Salted Caramel Latte

The cheesecake was soft but firm and it kinda looks like Oreo cheesecake haha. Earl Grey taste was not overpowering. When they first served the Iced Salted Caramel Latte, the salted caramel syrup was quite thick (at least 1 cm!) but I guess the latte was bitter enough ~ ((:

Dutch Colony Coffee & Co.

113 Frankel Avenue Singapore 458230

I had ~~
Chai Latte

Had been wondering how Chai Latte tasted like. To me, it tasted minty and somewhat like earl grey. Just somehow haha. However with 3 drinks, I think I am going to need the loo pretty soon ~~

Another potential quiet place if I wanted to study. Maybe I will bring a book along the next time.

Coast & Company

2016-03-04 13.56.07

2016-03-04 14.02.54

I had ~~
Country Salad
Earl Grey Tea

The Country Salad had a huge dose of smoked salmon (2nd round of smoked salmon hehe^^), but there was too much sauce. Next time I shall request for the sauce to be place separately. Had Earl Grey tea instead, since I had two cups of coffee already. Overdose of coffee ><

Other than the cafe, there is a bicycle workshop at the back and they even have an exclusive area for bikers and their bikes on the 2nd floor. Made me miss my ladies’ bicycle, but then again I rarely rode it πŸ˜›

Carvers & Co.

43 East Coast Road Singapore 428764

2016-03-04 15.33.07

I had ~~
Steak and Cheese Sandwich
Gingerale Soda

Good to have something light and fizzy after all the coffee and tea. Now I going to keep a lookout for Gingerale Soda haha! The Steak and Cheese sandwich was a little too much on the cheese and greens (or maybe it is because of all the cafehopping~).

Might not be coming back for seconds. Would probably head to the cafes nearby instead ><

FFL Fresh Fruits Lab

351 Changi Rd, Singapore 419818

2016-03-04 17.17.01
2016-03-04 17.39.30
I had ~~
Rainbow cake
Strawberry Soda
Complementary Carrots and Orange Juice

A fruity and light way to end the cafehopping trip. I really love the Strawberry Soda. But I love the concept of using lab equipment to serve the drinks.

Lastly ~~~

I ended the day with a visit to i light @ Marina Bay. Started the walk a little too early, but managed to walk the entire route (which is the whole circle of Marina Bay area). Saw quite a few interesting exhibitions and hadΒ HΓ€agen-Dazs ice cream ((:

[Travelling] Gwen’s trip: 18th June to 4th July

*PS my post from now on will be relatively short and lesser photos as I am too tired from all the travelling and cannot remember much details is I post too long later :P*

Super Super happy that Gwen got a chance to come over and travel together. Despite all the quarrelling and crying, there was much more happiness and joy that washed it all away (:
We got to travel to 11 cities in South Korea in just 17 days, from Busan to Daegu to Seoul. Woohoo^^

Something that was unforgettable was the two of us lugging our 4 luggages, 2 backpacks and pillow case from one guest house to another >.< At every guest house, they would ask us why we have so many bags and even a pillow πŸ˜›

Another unforgettable thing was our shipping weight! Haha(: It was freaking 27kg lor πŸ˜› Same amount as an additional luggage >.< I really packed everything tight tight and filled as much stuff as possible into the size 6 shipping box.

I cannot wait for more of such trips in Singapore and overseas ((:

2nd week of school: excited but still not in study mood yet :P

2nd week  back in school after my 3 month plus stint in TECSC. It feels good to be back! Though I am still not into the study mode yet, but I am more determined to study this sem (partly because of my modules and for my exchange).

First week of school had mixed feelings. Unsure, because I was rarely in school the whole summer. Excited, because I missed school and being able to have time to go out with friends, other than on weekends. Tired, though it is only the first week only but filled with booth duty, outings and having my 21st Birthday Party.

Well as usual, let me give a summary of my first week back in sch >>

MONDAY

Had lunch with my BFF/Not-so-close friend at Dean & Deluca. We ordered β€œBerries and Flap Jacks” but it was too much for a one person’s serving πŸ˜› We had to pack the pancakes, but I ended giving my pancakes to Challenge booth people since they had not eaten their lunch.

Had my first lesson of the Semester: Deconstructing Singapore Society. I feel the lesson helps me to learn more about Singapore, the laws, political scene, etc.. So I don’t think I will drop the class. But I must admit that I think we are walking on thin lines >.<

TUESDAY

First time I kept hearing a prof asking his students to drop his class, but it was all for good intentions. We are going to work in groups often and have fieldtrips to polyclinic to work on improving patient experience.

Tuesday is also my most free day. 1 morning class and I can head home to rest le !!

Met up with T17 girls, like a finally ((: the topics we talk about really changed over the years. We went The Coffee Daily, which only had nice coffee  and not much food. Since it is near my house, I might head there often for <alone> time. haix 1 evening was not enough for us , or more for me, to catch up with the rest, especially when they are mostly all in NUS.

FRIDAY

My 21st Birthday!!!

woke up and immediately packed my stuff for the chalet then drove down (: Once there, we started the decorations with my aunt’s beautician (but sadly I do not have the photos of that with me now. It was good to have everyone there but i barely had time to entertain everyone. Appreciative that my friends still enjoy the company, food and my cake!!! Picture coming up ((:

2013-08-23 14.17.28 The Beautician made two lovely bouquets for Sam and me ((:

Missed the times when we sit together at one table on the canteen and just gossip the day away. All the fun memories the T17 had provided me with are irreplaceable. We often have study group at NLB or Macs, and aso stayed back for the Night study sessions. Huiyi Lee, I still remember we tried to catch the same bus to go to Changi Airport to study, but i don’t rmb us succeeding even once πŸ˜›
